Abstract

In recent years, regular exercise has been regarded as an effective intervention for endothelial dysfunction. Obesity is associated with insulin resistance and endothelial dysfunction through the release of metabolic products such as hormone and adipocytokines. Obesity and risk factors associated to cardiovascular disease and inactivity leads to athersclerosis. L-arginine-NO pathway is a main factor for vascular dilatation as L-arginine capability, eNOS activity, and extracellular superoxide dismutase activity. Regular exercise training is an effective method to improve endothelial dysfunction by increasing nitric oxide release, eNOS protein expression and phosphorylation, and ecSOD expression.
